Although they theoretically can, in practice, the influence of pirated alcohol makes this difficult.
Any such attempt at catching shurikens is usually more comical than amazing.

What happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object?

I'm going to pick Ninja, a pirate will drink at some point, and when that happens, ninja can strike and poison his spoon; poison it good.
