You are probably not using the right CXMB set up.   Try using the CXMB from the 5.50 GEN essentials thread here:

Of course, if you insist on using Flash0 files, you can always extract the contents of the .CTF with CTF Tool GUI by patpat.   ;)

yeah. im sure im using the right setup. i googled for it. though when i looked for how to convert a ctf, i couldnt find anything. thanks

Well if you are on 5.50 GEN cfw, then I guarantee the CXMB that I linked to above will work on your PSP.  ;)

Did you have it set up right?

Are your plugins enabled?  Also in 5.50 GEN cfw, there are also global enable/disable option for plugins in recovery mode advanced settings (as well as the plugin menu itself).  So you need to make sure plugins are set to enabled there as well.  

Just to be clear:  THERE ARE 2 MENUS IN RECOVERY MODE THAT YOU MUST MAKE SURE PLUGINS ARE ENABLED IN when using 5.50 GEN cfw.   ;)
