Toungue windows 3.1 for psp
ok so im playing around with 3.1 for psp through dosbox and ive got my card as the harddrive. put the install disks for 3.1 in a seperate folder and mounted it as drive a: for all the drivers and whatnot. now the question i need help with. how do i get write access? im going to assume its because im using an image. anybody know if dosbox itself has write access? for example can you save your dos games. and if it does i may try running it from the files not in an image. or any ideas about how to maby make a clone of the image and save the settings and whatnot into it? i can get it to run some emu's and whatnot with tweeking but it takes time and isn't stable.. so not even in a beta yet lol. also im looking for one or maby two people who are more technologically inclined to help me out with this and a couple of other projects.

Windows on PSP is actually quite useless. Since the hardware of the PSP is different than a PC, it has to emulate, and so it ends up rather slow, and you really can't do much.

Oh well, it's fun bragging that you got Windows on a PSP, anyway :)

RE: windows 3.1 for psp
I remember trying to get 95 going on my PSP a looong time ago. I asked for help and you all told me off for breaking copyright law.

I didn't even know where to start. Getting something running is better than I ever did...

RE: windows 3.1 for psp
i can run 95 but its slooowwww. doesn't crash though. and 3.1 isn't slow at all as it usues like 10 mb or ram tops on a slim.. and uh the saturn emulator ran but with messed up graphics untill i changed the video driver but it was a pain and took forever because the program doesn't have write access. 3.1 is stable and working. just doesn't have write access. that's where i need help.

Grey Ghost Wrote:my friend had 95 working at some stage on his psp, dreadfully slow. and yea not much use, crashed when you went into minesweeper

True story.
But then, he was a mod-maniac. If he couldn't modify it, he didn't want it.
He got windows, N64 emulator, GBA emu, SNES emu and I'm sure he got other emulators I haven't heard about on there and running. He spent more time playing with emulators than he did playing any game on the PSP.

And what's Windows 3.1?

"Books! I've read several on the subject!"

RE: windows 3.1 for psp
3.1 is pretty much the first version of windows from the mid 80's n early 90's. very simple and basic. very easy to add and modify commands. and still supports 256 colors at good quality. now if i can get write access wee can run all kids of apps and games.... so last try here.... anybody out there capable of helping me write commands and try things out..?

RE: windows 3.1 for psp
for example i burned an iso to an external burner from my psp. but it takes so long to force the driver to install without the write access and once you close it its back to just basic 3.1
