What the hell is it? Organized Randomness, that's what....
In this picture that I have uploaded, in the column labeled "Title" there are two greyed out titles. These two songs have the artwork applied to them and appear in the bottom task bar of the window. As for every other song, they are just plain. How the fuck does windows apply information and artwork to music? I can't find anything google-wise about it.

lol Right-click and click properties, then click the details tab. I usually just use iTunes and SoundCrank
If your asking how it works, it uses the song's ID3 tag I believe
When ripping a CD using windows media played, it will check online and get track info/artwork. If it don't get the track info/artwork it may not set as default setting but if you go into like (maybe) Rip>Advanced settings it should be there in them options somewhere. Im pretty sure VLC will also do this. Now idk if you ripped the album or downloaded off the internet but if it was downloaded, lets say for ex. a public torrent tracker there could be a chance the person who packed the torrent used tracks found from all over and often diff in bitrate and track info. ect. << maybe why some of your track info is missing idk. just a guess.

I know to do that Mickey, but I'd really rather not spend forever individually editing each and every song. It obviously happens on its own somehow, because I didn't edit any of the other music that I have and its all fully compiled with all of the necessary info.

Some downloaded songs already have it. With iTunes and soundcrank all you do is play the music and it gets the info for you and asks you to apply it. Sometimes when you play with different music players if it matches their database it'll add the data
