Threaded Mode | Linear Mode

My mtech m9000 laptop has finally arrived!! Shes beautiful...

for those who don't know;

2.80 ghz intel core 2 duo processor
4gb ram
ATI mobility radeon hd 4650 graphics card
320gb hdd
windows xp pro

It arrived in the mail today, and after basic checks, its the fastest machine ive ever used. I ran the cd burner to check the drive and to see the cpu usage, and to surprise, when burning at 24x speed, the cpu usage meter read only 2%!! While doing this, i was listening to music and running psp brew, and then the usage upped to 4%. Ive never seen it rise above 11%, and that's marvelous.

You do realize CD burning is NOT a CPU intensive task, right? It's like transferring data from your HDD to your CD burner. Neither is listening to music. A 50 dollar MP3 player from 5 years ago can decode music just fine.

Go decode some 1080p video or something. If that doesn't go above 4%, then it's something to be proud of.

actually I just wonder if it is shit at running games or not XD

Err.... with current technology, you can calculate that in way less than a second.

In fact, you can find pi to 1 billion digits within 2 hours or so on an average computer nowadays.

thou hast a point. but it did upgrade from ubuntu 8.10 to the latest version 9.something... in about 15 minutes. plus it plays oblivion through wine at high graphics without lag...
