And I'm not happy about it...I got the damn ps3 to rid myself of retarded computer game server problems but now I have more problems :(

Stupid thing came with 2.52 firmware so I went to update to 2.60 via network update to retreive PSN games, downloaded in a jiffy and started installing and then it gets stuck at 99%.

Waited 20 minutes talking to azumi and still it didn't go passed 99%.

Being a retard and listening to suggestions online, i shut it off...Then turned it on and it started installing again..but still stuck at 99%...waited 4 minutes and 20 seconds and it didnt finish so i shut it off...

Now im trying to get this 'recovery menu' to boot.

took back the 60 gb got $43 back cash on the return, bought a new 80gb they give me a $50 gift card for buying a new system    I go to target with the cash and $17 remaining on a gift card and buy socom with the bluetooth headset and get to go back to gamestop next week and buy killzone 2 with the gift card and a little bit of cash AND i got a box of carmel delight and thin mint girl scout cookies from some girls outside of target WOOWOOOOO

well..seeing as how i had nothing to loose, i crashed another attempt at hte update at 20% then powered it back on to try to go to recovery thinger and it didn't go so i let the update run and it rebooted itself and now im in!!!!!!

so it has happened twice now after successfully downloading a game, stoping the download que, then going to install the game, it gets stuck at a random % and won't finish installing :(  Wipeout HD and now Socom are doing it.... GRRRRR .... makes me wonder if there is something wrong with this unit :(  

I also tried replacing the seagate 60gb 5400rpm 7200.2 harddrive with a seagate 80gb 7200rpm 7200.3 harddrive and it always says 'Cannot start.. The correct hard disk was not found.'

This is a brand new out of the package drive..yeah i know..why bother upgrade for only 20gb...cause i am hopefully trading the 60gb i have for it...but it doesn't work :(

Now that its daylite and bright i have moved back into the blue computer room, attached a dvi to hdmi adapter and plugged the ps3 into my 22"lcd monitor and my pc is going in via dvi-vga adapter, which looks alot better than i thought it would..on both components!  

So its cool...but i also could not get the 1year extended warranty option yesterday so they said i can take it back to a local gamestop and return it, then rebuy it and add the warranty :D But that's another $60 and is only good for a year..but maybe it would be worth it..I've NEVER used any kind of extended warranty that I paid for up front, so should I start to quit buying into that now?

i think you got a bad new HDD... or your PS3 is re-polished.
