Yeah, seems not very much of an improvement.  But I did happen to use DVDShrink today, and did notice quite a bit of a gain.
On old PC, analyse took 10mins, encode took 30mins.  New comp, analyse = 3mins, encode = 10mins.  DVDShrink does use multi-threading, which explains part of the difference, but it's still an impressive gain.

Well, 72fps vs 111 is about a 1.5x increase. Your old cpu seems to perform extremely similar to my core2 laptop.

I remember in the past that DVDShrink took like 20-30 minutes to analyse (deep analysis), and over an hour to encode on my desktop. Heh, seems like I should upgrade too. Although the speeds could vary a bit depending on the length and complexity of the DVD. Haven't tried it on the laptop yet.

And that weird thing with the inconsistent stats is also very evident in your 3 screenshots. the last one has significantly different SSIM, PSNR and average QPs as the other 3....
