PSX Savegame icon (SOLVED)
Hi guys
While browsing my savegames today [I never clean them or look there] I noticed that ALL of my PSX savegames have the same icon - some vampire looking guy [maybe from Castlevania]. I checked out the PSX2PSP program [what I use to make them] and couldnt find the graphic. So i checked the slightly-unstable-in-my-experience Popstation GUI [no offence creator :)] and couldnt find an option in there to choose the graphic either
Now I really hate this gay lookin vampire dude, and realized that it's not part of a theme and that the icon for the savegame must be included in the PSX EBOOT somewhere. But where!?!? I really want to change it to a more.... good.... icon, but just can't find out how. Is it in the DATA.PSP file or something?
Thanks in advance :)

RE: PSX Savegame icon
It's a fallback icon in the firmware.
It means that there's no save icon, or the one stored is invalid.

RE: PSX Savegame icon
Are you serious?
Do you know where it is stored so I can possibly HEX edit the image to something a bit more to my liking? :)
EDIT - I coulda sworn I've changed the graphic for my POPS Savegames/Memcards once upon a time, packaged with the EBOOT that was built from the BIN/ISO that is....
EDIT2 - I tried to find it, had no luck, not in any RCO's or other file when searching for a PNG header, so it must be compressed or I'm poo poo. I guess I can't change it. Oh well, thanks :)

RE: PSX Savegame icon
Hey thanks for the reply. But this was happenning before FW 5.00 was even out [I think I was on 3.71 when i first noticed this].
What i mean is that whenever I save a PSX game, it has an icon of a guy for the savegame. And I have absolutely no idea where this graphic comes from and I want to change it! I know that the graphic is embedded INSIDE the savegame file when its made, but right now when i make a new savegame or delete the old ones it is STILL this vampire guy.
Bust a Groove is the PSX savegame/memorycard file.
EDIT: I have 5.00 M33-3 now too, which already has the fix you linked to. All my original CSO's and PSX EBOOTS work 100%, with the exception of this elusive graphic.

RE: PSX Savegame icon
OK I don't mean to revive an old thread, but I thought id just let you guys know that I found the solution.
It's a bug (?) in the PSP firmware apparently, that has been present since 3.80 (my guess was close!). Basically, using an ICON0.PNG bigger than 80x80 will result in the savegames it creates to revert to the inbuilt one, as you said ZB.
Solution? Use an 80x80 ICON0.PNG - that's all. Alternatively, using an *apparently* more compatible POPSLoader from before 3.80 will allow the 144x80 icons to be created properly on the savegames/memorycards. :) Peace.
EDIT: Holy poo poo, I summoned a creature from the graveyard! [Taps mana and attacks] haha i LOL'd IRL that's funny as.... hope I havnt caused grief for anyone lol, I found the reason why this was happening and thought i'd share is all ^_^ Feel free to lock!
