Threaded Mode | Linear Mode

So lately I've been noticing that I kinda need to get with the times. I need to upgrade my psp. I'm running 3.40 OE right now and I totally missed the wagon to 3.51 m33 because I wasn't sure if it was a DA fw or not. So now I see that there are a lot of users with m33 firmware and i need to upgrade myself. From what I've seen I just do the update like any normal update [4.01m33] but I read somewhere before for 3.9Xm33 that I had to be in 3.5X m33 to be able to upgrade to that. I've looked into the readme's in 4.01m33 and see nothing of the sort but I'm not ready to go and try it without confirmation. So basically I want to know what firmware do I have to be in to be able to upgrade to 4.01m33? I have a phat psp by the way so I haven't read if that makes a difference or not.

your best bet is
a) make a pandora setup
b) try installing 4.01..if it fails for any reason you can pandora yourself to 3.90m33 and then install 4.01m33

true but i don't have the money right now :P
well it seems calo is still around
apparently i have to go to 3.51m33 then up from there i need to really research this though

Correction: 3.40 OE > 3.52 M33 > 3.52 M33-3 > 4.01 M33-2

Or Pandora straight to 4.01 M33-2. You don't need money, just softmod your battery and make your MS right there and then.

oh you can softmod the battery? cool i thought it was 1 time thing and its pandora forever
I'm actually gonna try 3.4 oe then 3.52 m33 to mee-3 to 4.01m33-2 like you wrote if it don't it it don't work!

Make sure to backup your savedata first.

When updating to 3.52 M33 (3.52 M33-4):

Run apps under 1.50 kernel.

When updating to 4.01 M33-2:

RUN UPDATERS UNDER THE 3.52 KERNEL OR YOU WILL BRICK.

From there, just install the 1.50 kernel addon.

all you need is a minimum FW of 3.52 m33-4 and you ca go straight up to 4.01 m33..... everything you need is on dax's website and the official firmware is easy enough to find....
