it sounds something wrong with glow/shadow, had you run the topmenu_convert?

i don't know that sounds pretty EZ

To convert your icons:

1) Open your old topmenu in RCO Editor
2) Extract All to a folder
3) Copy topmenu_convert.bat and blank.dat into
   the folder where you extracted everything
4) Run topmenu_convert.bat
5) Open the "clean" RCO in RCO Editor
6) Replace Multiple - select the folder
   containing the extracted files

^^Backup copy of the topmenu, before editing.  Not needed, but it does have a use.
