Is it possible
To have two different screen outputs??? Like have one connected to the computer screen and the other to the tv watching a movie??? Kind of like ubuntu that has two desktops, but can you output that to two different screens.
Thanks.

RE: Is it possible
you need 2 video outputs to start with ( I installed an old PCI vga card and used it with the onboard video to have dual displays)

(most modern video cards has 2 dvi outputs nowadays...)

RE: Is it possible
i use my Matrox parhelia 128 (please don't flame me) and various adapters to use my computer as a sort-of media center. in my room, my bed is one of those high sleeper ones, with a bed at the top and a desk underneath. i have my computer at my desk and my tv on my wall at bed level. its all set up so i can watch dvd's etc. from my bed, on my tv and control my computer with my wireless keyboad and mouse. while video's are showing on the tv the computer screen carries on doing computer things (or a screensaver) because the tv is set up as what's called a feature display. if you set up a second monitor as a featuse display it shows videos playing in programs like powerdvd fullscreen (some other programs can use feature displays too, but powerdvd is the only one i know of).

@ kaiser, how do you do that? because my graphics card has provision for up to 3 monitors. if i can use my onboard as well then i can have 4. (first i need to find enough monitors) imagine uber-widescreen gaming with 4 monitors...

I just installed an ATI Rage 128 on the PCI drive and set the BIOS to make the onboard video card the primary video adapter. After that it was just installing the card drivers. and enabling the extended display.

I'm currently Saving up for buying 2 4870's and Crossfire them for 3-4 monitors (still not sure)
