What Adobe's CS team should do...
is to integrate a restore previous session (something like that in FF) or a recovery of previous unsaved work. I mean, if it can be done in Office, surely it can be implemented in other software as well!

Well, the story is similar to what so many others have been saying ( and me sneering at them for their stoopidity!). I was working on a sig for the Team battles. Was creating a custom background, a mix of brush and collage and spoon.. it was actually coming out good (like I'd say it was horrible, anyways!). I was happy about it and took a break to recollect my thoughts and decided to take the dog for a walk and then there is  powercut!!!

Now my PC is connected to a UPS, but apparently, the UPS cannot telepathically connect to my brain to inform me that it can provide 20 mins backup only. Even t did, apparent;y my brain was far more interested in the cellphne conversation I was having, looking up at the clouds marveling the complete darkness the powercut had bestowed on my society. I reach home half an hour after I went out, and hear the continuous beeping of the ups, an indicator that in 2-3 mins, it will die! I rush upstairs, just as it dies and a minute later the power is back on!!!

anyways.. this is all too familiar thing around the world so nothing to comment about.. what is worthwhile to think is won't it be very useful if CS3 products (esp. PS) allow you to recover your lost work?

one of those things I wish for as well.

But I have learned from many tragedies... and now I save my work regularly.. just in case.

yea... but sometimes it just doesn't happen! the only sureshot way is to save every 5 mins or something, but when you're deep into doing stuff, it gets out of the mind!

Yeah, I save my work too often - habit now.  Most programs I work with don't have auto-recover (usually Notepad++).

Would be nice for Photoshop though.

Notepad ++ is really nice.. shows what Notepad should have been like...

then again.. almost everything MS makes has a better counterpart! (except Money)
