RE: [PSP] RCO Editor v1.15c
Im making a theme and I wanted to mention an ERROR using this program.

I was getting sick of opening RCO by " Opening RCOeditor and then drag and drop the file " Sometimes I closed RCOeditor and I have the RCO somewhere else.  I just wanted to double click the RCO and get on RCOeditor.

So I did this:

1. Right click the RCO
2. Open with
3. Select from a list
4. Selected "Rcoeditor"

When I double click the RCOs after that the results was this:

If you click "YES" nothing happens, RCO opens but that's it, it won't load the RCO.

Its not a problem because wee can just drag and drop the file and it'll work perfectly, but this feature would be a nice 'add' in future releases if Zinga is ok with that.

O_o, I don't recall ever changing the language section in 1.15x...

As for explorer association, I thought I added that in 1.15?
Maybe not - never really checked...

What is your method for a workaround ??

yes i would like to know this too for it happens to me quite a bit where it breaks the image apart or puts lines through it no matter what i do.i rebuild it with new alpha and spoon still same.go back to it later on in the day and bang first try it displays like it should and i do it the same way always do so ya.i also have the error 52 bad file name when i click the rco but just choose no when it asks to continue then program starts.the older ver would start with the rco loaded though.i have to say this is the best program to hit the seine though i mean look what was done because of it.my hats off to you zinga

This only happens when you use 8bit bmp's!! i have never had this untill i helped with someone's theme and noticed he saved the image as 8bit bmp,.

Always save as 32bit,.. well that's whot i do,..

Make loads of $$!! it wurks!!

I've run into this problem with the image corrupting, and it does corrupt occasionally with 32 bit bmps.  There is an easy fix.

Before injecting the image, check the dimensions in the lower right corner in RCO Editor. In RCO Editor 1.15c, you don't get an invalid dimensions error when injecting a bmp with invalid dimensions. Open the same rco in RCO Editor 1.14d. When trying to inject a .bmp with invalid dimensions, you will get the message that "Width must be divisible by 16 and height must be divisible by 8".

Notice the dimensions in the lower right corner. Dimensions are 48x16, but visible dimensions are 45x14. The dimensions are correct for the .bmp, but the visible dimensions are not:

Open the same rco in RCO Editor 1.15c, and it only shows visible dimensions of the bmp, not the actual dimensions:

Now I'm just going to extract the tiff .bmp with RCO Editor 1.15c, recolor it blue in photoshop, and inject it.

I haven't made any changes to the dimensions.

Corruption:

Notice the dimensions of the extracted tiff .bmp:

48x16:

Now open the .bmp in photoshop and check the dimensions.

45x14:

I'm just going to change the dimensions of the tiff .bmp in photoshop to 44x14.

Now inject the 44x14 tiff .bmp into the rco:

Notice i didn't have to increase the size of the tiff .bmp to "actual dimensions" of 48x16,  i just had to decrease the visible width dimensions by one pixel, to 44x14.

As long as the .bmps you're injecting have visible dimensions of even numbers, you shouldn't have any problems with corruption.

RE: [PSP] RCO Editor v1.15c
Thanks for the source to v1.14 I was able to create a Theme Viewer.  Unfortunately, I can’t uncompress the 3.7 PTF files but the 3.8 PTF work great.  I have a few bugs to take care of but it's working.

I also use VB.  There is more to VB than meets the eyes.

Thanks Zinga

RE: [PSP] RCO Editor v1.15c
I don't think you can uncompress PTFs without using the PSP at the moment...
