Today my Current computer just exploded, first the power went out I checked to see if it was the safety but then, BANG there was this smell, the computer was burning hot and there was this foul smell. more news later.
and what's worse is that I haven't backed up my stuff yet.

My Computer lives again and the Hard Drive is working and still has all my files.

No, nowhere near that exciting.  No smoke or flames, (maybe just a bit from my wife's ears) but I lost all my stuff nonetheless...
It all started as a Cyclic Redundancy Error, but ended in disaster.
