The blimp-like craft will be filled with helium and hover 1,000 feet above ground level where it'll take advantage of the stronger winds to capture energy (which is then transferred back to ground). It's expected to go into production soon with working models as early as 2010.

^^Cool thanks. I still don't exactly know how power can be transfered directly from air to the ground though.

But it certainly is an awesome idea I think (surprised no-one thought of this before) - very cost efficient way of producing sustainable energy.
