Customise 3.71 m33-2
Hi, was fiddling with my new PSP Slim and found a way to get my new slim to look almost (99%) like my old phat one. Just in case this hasn't been posted before.

Here are the tools you need.
1. Official Sony Theme Converter
2. CXMB 2.5 (you should know what I'm talking about)

- Ok, get your icons and compile them into a .PTF file (this is for topmenu_plugin.rco cause the new slim has got problems with customized topmenus) and install them via XMB » THEME

- Next reboot into recovery menu (hold R when booting up)

- Enable CXMB.prx (placed in ms0:\CXMB folder) and toggle USB

- Create these "FONT", "VSH" and "RESOURCE" folders and other non essential folders if you happen to need them (MODULE, NODULE, ETC <no pun intended>). Don't create the folders unless you have something to put inside. E.g.

                         ms0:\CXMB\FONT
                         ms0:\CXMB\VSH\RESOURCE

and put your waves (system_plugin_bg, opening_plugin) and other necessary files (gameboot.pmf, 01-12.bmp, etc) you need and DO THIS ONE FILE AT A TIME so you'll know which file is compatible/incompatible. The listed ones are mostly compatible.

Note: system_plugin.rco does not seem to work at this time. Volume bars and battery bars have mixed results.

- Boot into XMB and go to THEME SETTINGS » WALLPAPER » use ORIGINAL and you should briefly see your wave in the background along with your 01-12.bmp background. Reboot.

- VOILA!

To sum up:

WORKING
system_plugin_bg
opening_plugin
gameboot.pmf
01-12.bmp
and some prx work

NOT WORKING
system_plugin
topmenu_plugin (yes that's why you need a ptf file)
impose_plugin

MIGHT BE WORKING
Other rcos

If you keep seeing a white background, try to change your wallpaper again to Custom Theme and then reboot and then change back to ORIGINAL. If it still doesn't work, then it's probably your .PTF file.

Hope you guys on 3.71 m33 find this useful.

Yeah, that's why wee have to use the .PTF files to get the topmenu, disable the wallpaper to get the waves and 01-12.bmp.

By the way,

here's a screenshot of my slim. The topmenu is from Mr Evo's Vista (ptf), the wave is from... well someone who made it. Together with the purple background.

except:
Quote:vshmain.prx
paf.prx
common_gui.prx

rest of files should be hooked fine by cxmb 2.5 on 3.71...

for messed icons due to memory issue, it's Sony's problem, not cmxb...:yipi:

RE: Customise 3.71 m33-2
Eventhough it's already customized by the ptf (Slim PsP) but still - the FreeLocation Player icon is not changed (remain original). Does anyone got an idea how to change it into custom? :hmm:

RE: Customise 3.71 m33-2
^ RCOs seem to be the only way.
Even though there's a "gap" in the IDs assigned to icons in PTFs for the LFTV, the PSP seems to ignore it.
Maybe it means that Sony had thought about allowing the LFTV to be customized?  Who knows....
