ok so i have had a psp for a while now, and never really got into customizing it, until now... I have and official 3.51 firmware, how can i get something else in there where i can do custom themes... I looked around a few websites, and searched on here and couldn't find it, so if anyone can point me in the right dirrection, thanks...

ok there are 2 different kind of themes. . .
1. The official Sony PTF theme (it only changes icons and wallpaper)
and
2. the Hackers theme (the one that you have to flash onto your PSP's flash memory(where the Firmware is held))

okay. so for the first one all you need to do is upgrade to either Official sony Firmware 3.71 OR upgrade to Custom FW 3.71m33-2
and just place the theme file (.PTF) in the PSP/THEME folder on the memory stick.

the second on the other hand . REQUIRES a Custom Firmware like 3.52M33, 3.10OE, or even 3.71M33. .

and you can download different themes and see how they work HERE

3.51 oficial ?

If you have Oficial you can't customize it , only the latest 3.71 oficial have posibilities to use a custom themes called PTF.Update and find PTF themes.

Or go to custom firmware.

i want to do the custom themes like the halo xbox 360 theme... i have gone through those pages but can't find a specific one to tell me how to do it from 3.51, is there a way to compile your own ptf themes for 3.71???

well, you'll need a pandora batery, which either requires a friend with a hacked PSP already, OR it can be donw via hard modding the battery if you know how

yes there is a program Sony released called a Theme creator. . . you place all the images you want for the icons and it compiles it into a PTF for 3.71<

thanksi guess I'll try the sony one seems easier for what i want to do and don't need to get an extra baattery and turn it into a "magical battery"...

It's worth it if you really want to customize the top to bottom of your PSP. Like the gameboot, colboot, prx, home screens, and small little others.
And it's not really your choice, as you need someone to already have the magic battery and memory stick.
There are some free services where you can meet people in your area on some other forum. It's a list.
But that's up to you.
