RE: Full Metal Panic!
which one are you talking about? theres FMP, FMP second raid, and FMP fummofu... ive only seen fummofu and it was FUNNY... any guy that brings biohazard containers to school is cool.. not to mention he blows up his own locker cause it looks tampered with and does a 'preemptive strike' on a girl sending him love letters cause he misread it lol

RE: Full Metal Panic!
I don't know why English dubs are usually so bad.
Is the English language really that bad at expressing?
I love Tessa. She is so hot.

to me it seems like they don't put as much into the character in the dubs... like they put more emotion into the originals... plus most attacks and stuff like that sound weird when translated... not to mention they have to ad lib to make the words match the lip flaps

RE: Full Metal Panic!
^ That, and the fact that if the story was designed for a certain language, there will always be some loss in meaning through a translation.
For example, puns will inevitably be lost in a dub, but can somewhat be preserved in a sub (through one of those "notes").
My FMP is all on DVDs - DVDs are a pain to convert to PSP... >_>

And the point of converting to PSP is...
Just watch it on DVD. U get better quality too.

Not all stuff can be translated directly. Resulting in some stuff sounding awkward.
And sometimes, the dubbers try to like "americanize" the anime, and that sometimes ends up horribly wrong. Like for the Mai-Hime dubs, they made the club vice president girl (forgot her name, Suzushiro?) have a full weird accent (think american gansta style? can't remember exactly what it's like now. been quite a while) and that really didn't work. It just sounded really gay and annoying, and pissed me off. The naruto dubs is another example of how that fails.
But overall, i still prefer dubs (most of the time, as long as the dubs aren't too horrible) cause reading subs is annoying as hell.

It lets me watch it on the car :P

And the other extreme - when they try to retain too much of the original meaning, like the Love Hina dubs, which end up sounding somewhat dumb :P

I'm quite picky about watching stuff. I would never really watch anything in the car, I'll just get distracted all the time, and won't enjoy it (as much).
I generally watch everything on my large screen TV at home with no-one around. Or on my computer.

Since my parents have to send me and pick me up, they're always at home, and typically, they're the ones watching TV.
And when I'm at home, I'm typically doing something on the computer, so I try to optimize the 1 hour of travelling I do every day, and use it more constructively than just stare out the window :P
Granted, not so comfy, but meh.
