.prx newb questions
hello everyone, this is my first post. I've been reading alot tonight and I've partially absorbed some of this but i think a few good old fashioned newb questions are in order...
I've read alot about vshmain.prx, and I'm totally confused. all i want to do right now is change the x position to -120. I've found zingas thread with the offsets positions, iread the hex editing tut, i didn't understand it, but i read most of it. could someone just take me through this little mod step by step, i learn best by doing so this should clear up some of my confusion.
I'm concerned about bricking, I've read of this happening, r ppl puting the files in the wrong folder or something, or can a corrupt vshmain.prx cause a perma-brick??
anyway thanks in advance, iknow the answers right in front of me but i can't read the language yet.

RE: .prx newb questions
decrypt your prx. . . > open it with a hex editor like hex workshop> go to the offset for xmenu for your FW> change the 32bit float value to '-120'. .> recompress it> flash it and your done.

RE: .prx newb questions
ok, but -120 is written differenty right, in the 16 # hex? my firmware is m33 3.52 and my icons are 8bit, r all offsets listed just 4 32bit??
anyway I'll start playing with it, it does seem simple, i just know I'll find a way to fuk it up though...

RE: .prx newb questions
flashing a corrupted prx won't permabrick i think. . . anyways in hex workshop there are options in the bottom left and il you look after you search the offset look in the bottom for a think calld " 32 bit float" and there should be a value in it. . just change that value to yours and save.

RE: .prx newb questions
can't seem to "go to" the offset. i use the go to function, looking for 0x36EE8 -x positon on 3.5x. nothing happens.
i used prxdecrypter on m33 and it said in the log it was already decrypted, so i just snagged a vshmain from my flash 0, is that ok??

RE: .prx newb questions
no I don't think the one you have is decrypted. . . place the vshmain.prx inthe X:/enc folder then run the program.

RE: .prx newb questions
my problem is "0x36EE8" isn't the right thing to "go to", if i try XVI32 it says that it can't find that, invalid search.
so do i need to convert 0x36EE8 to something else to search for it??
edit.... i dl'd a posted vshmain.prx, it works. i don't know what i was doing wrong, the 1 i dl'd is alot bigger, maybe i needed to decompress it??
thanks agin
