Ar Tonelico 2 on PCSX2 (emulator).

Also coming back to finish Mass Effect 2 (as in, finishing it, not replaying).

Decided to time it - they take roughly the same time, but Madoka is significantly easier to play.
Replay of first level if you're interested: Madoka Kyouko
Sayaka's even worse at the first level, but surprisingly good for the later ones.
Actually managed to finish round 26 with her - though possibly because I figured out how to use her special attack.
And once you finish round 26, it unlocks to round 677, which is plainly absurd.  It takes minutes to kill even normal enemies, and took me like 5 minutes to kill the first big skeleton guy.  You don't level up fast enough either.  Am not going to seriously try it, might just see if it's possible to cheat my way through.

I never really bothered seriously playing round 26 by myself (I mean it's exactly the same besides for enemies being harder.  Not enough reward to warrant the effort).  My experience of Kyouko being faster than everything is mainly from lvl5 and lower where Kyouko is pretty much 1 hit kill rush everything.  (And I didn't abuse Madoka's special near as much as you did).

If I ever wanted to finish 26 I'll probably go grab my sister for 2p or something.  She's pretty bad, but still much much better than nothing.  Supposedly some people have gone far enough to unlock a number large enough to crash the game (bigger than a 32bit int can store).

Also, seems you can play 2p through unofficial online support.

RE: What are you playing now?
I've managed to crash the game at times - mostly on the second level.
At 677, it's seriously not worth the bother.  Round 26 is playable, but 677 is just grinding.
Is the int signed or not?  Because if it isn't, one would imagine that the number should simply overflow without crashing the game :/

Quote:The 3rd Valkyria Chronicles game will never see the light of day in the United States. It was first asked on Sega on Twitter, and they responded saying that Valkyria Chronicles 3 will not be at E3 and that there has been no announcement for a stateside release. A fan of Phantasy Star Online Portable asked Sega if they will release the game in the United States and here is his paraphrase of Sega's response:

"As much as I would love to see an English release of Infinity, SEGA West is currently not looking at further PSP development. Games like PSPo2 and Valkyria Chronicles 2 did not sell nearly as well as wee had hoped that they would. Also, wee all have to take into account the heavy amount of piracy that plagues the West. (Steven: I lol at this one) It may happen at some point, but there are currently no plans for it. "

Whyowhy

Should generally be able to make money regardless of how poor the sales.  Because the game is already made, and all they need to do is translate some text, do some dubbing (occasionally not even that), and some very minimal testing.

I would say it's more to do with pride and reputation.

Can't remember, it's something I read on the internet back then when I was wondering how high you can get.

According to what you say, probably signed then.

Plus sales/marketing, cover art, royalties to Sony and whatever else (eg MP3 royalties if they used that), logistics in sourcing UMDs/boxes, legal/contract fees, bureaucratic issues, support etc.
So quite a bit more, though I'm with you that even with bad sales, it should make enough since, in large, the software, art, audio and testing have largely already been done (I'm assuming this is the most significant cost in making such a game, but I could be wrong).

But I'm also a bit critical of it being for "pride".  Companies don't exist to enlarge their e-peen, and generally would seek out profit opportunities when they can, especially in the case where they have a monopoly on the title.

Some companies do.  Think of Blizzard dropping Starcraft Ghost after spending like forever developing it, because they weren't completely satisfied with it or something.  Purely on a money perspective, having "Starcraft" in it's name alone will probably net you at least a million sales, so they should have just cobbled whatever together and released it, regardless of whether it's going to be the best game ever or not.  I think it's mostly reputation in play here.

Ofcourse, this case is quite different, but I highly doubt the true reason is a purely financial one.  I guess it could be also because of bureaucratic reasons (bad sales might be viewed as a failed project to the company heads and/or shareholders, dunno).

Either way I don't care about Valkyria Chronicles too much.  The 1st game is on PS3 = I'm probably never going to play it (not in the forseeable future at least).  No hate against the PS3, just that there are personal/family reasons why it's infeasible for me to game on consoles.
