Where Will Piracy Move to Now?
So wee had Napster » Limewire » Torrent, and somewhat to DDL services.
Now that DDL has been put under question, where do you think everyone (who was relying on DDL) to move to?

Spread stuff across smaller DDL services?
Encrypt everything before sending to DDL service?
Or back to torrents, and possible newsgroups?
Or something entirely different? http://www.i2p2.de/ ?

This probably. I'm also wondering how viable a thoroughly non-US file hosting company could be.

Alternatives are bound to appear aren't they..

Megaupload was Hong Kong based.  US showed that they can shut down a foreign company for breaking US laws (which don't apply elsewhere).

Servers were mainly in the US.

I think he means a company which wholly has nothing to do with the US, or with any western US allied countries.

No mention of IRC, Newsgroups or FTP?

I'm only 22 and you just made me feel old.

Damn wippersnappers and your MegaFileShare sites. In my day such sites were trivial and unneeded. Now a few go down and they act like it's the end of file sharing.

People will find a way to pirate stuff. Don't worry about it.

RE: Where Will Piracy Move to Now?
I think they will just avoid the US entirely now, aslong as a hoster has no servers in the US and not .com in it's name I doubt the US will be able to do anything. And on that note, wow hey Kuu, nice to see you again, it's been a very long time if you still remember me^^

Actually they seized it because it had a .com address, which is technically a US domain.
