seems like he may be going in too
Interesting.

Am interested to find out what he's exactly charged for, and how Sony is justifying the €1,000,000.
I mean, I could probably smash up a Sony store and the damages would be less.  Reminds me of the case where the industry demanded US$75 trillion in damages.

Of course, sticking someone in jail doesn't help Sony one bit, except for waving their ego around in peoples' faces showing how much poo poo they can do.

someone's gonna rob a bank . .

Sony might be acting legal, but that doesn't make their Terms of Use, EULA, or whatever less idiotic. Will people get a compensation for having OtherOS removed? It was clearly advertised as a feature and the cost of it's production was included in the overall price of the console.

It's not about piracy, it's about getting what you payed for. If companies are allowed to withdraw features on a whim...well, it'd be quite sad.

A bunch of people? Full refunds?! Where did you get this info? As far as I know, only 1 guy in UK got refunded around 80GBP. Others around the world were denied of the refund.

Well, legally, Sony owns the software, so they can do it.  Arguably, you don't have to upgrade when it was removed, but of course, you lose some other features which perhaps were not explicitly advertised.

I really think some laws surrounding ownership of the software were changed.  I mean, you can't use a PS3 without the software - you don't have a choice here.  Unlike a PC, where you can install what you want, you're tied to whatever is installed (unless you hack it), and the device is useless without the software.  So in essence, you don't really own your PS3 at all.
