RE: paf.prx
EDIT #1: I got the gui app - THANK YOU. However, I can't figure out the colours, either. I changed 1 to 0 and then to 2 to see if anything would happen, but on each attempt, 1/2 brick. :(

EDIT #2: Could the reason it's not working for me be that I have the modded imposes? (.prx/.rsc)

EDIT #3: Nope. I can't get any modded paf.prx files to work. I tried the one from the DNA theme with the R and L mod for scrolling thru XMB and that didn't even work. DAMN.

Jesus... now I'm wondering what's wrong with my PSP. I tried a paf.prx decrypted, but NOT modded and my spoon 1/2 bricked even then. I even tried rerouting the file path, renaming the .prx, and loading two paf.prx at once. (Like the ol' vsh/vshmain.prx trick) No luck. Anyone have any idea what could be causing this odd problem?

Also, something I find really odd is the fact that pspbtcnf.txt makes referece to a vsh/module/paf.prx, but there isn't one in that directory.

RE: paf.prx
ok firstly you must have 3.40 oe. secondly you must have a decrypted paf.prx from 3.40 oe. third you must have the gui app or a hex editor. if your trying to use this gui with the 3.51 it will NOT work as previously stated. ill gie you the benefit of the doubt and assume your on 3.40 oe. one other thing before i help - NEVER mod pspbtcnf.txt except for vsh.prx loading - it is the only file that has to be redirected so 2 copies can load. also your reference that you found is valid because dark_alex patches the paths in memory so the pspbtcnf file can remain untouched to preserve the encryption i believe. now then - lets begin:
you have tried an original encrypted paf.prx just to make sure your source files are not corrupt. if not do this now.
if this allows you to boot wee may proceed.
next try an original decrypted paf.prx overwriting the old one in nodule directory (not Module).
again see if it boots. if it does THEN and only then can you use the gui to hex edit the file.
if you get this far you can't really go wrong provided the gui actually edits the file correctly but if you follow these instructions you can be sure that the gui will be the problem if it fails when you do your first hex edit.

RE: paf.prx
EDIT: Got it working! EFFING SCHWEET!

ACHTUNG: I know what the problem is: Everytime I tried to edit the paf in ENGLISH mode on the GUI, it would go corrupt and change to 0kb. I tried it in Japanese and it worked. So... I should've noticed this before; that it was 0kb. Thank you for your help, Anger!

RE: paf.prx
Yea. In fact, the GD bug is predominant. I screwed up and erased the one I got working and now I can't get another to work at all. I'm about to give up, but I know it's possible so...
