I'll just be a nice guy for once. instead of bashing like i did before.

with the exception of some mother who abandoned their child, attempt to kill, beat up or do anything that harm the child physically and mentally for more than 3 days. all mother do it because of love. i grown up in an asian family, that means constantly beat up when i do something wrong, and not with just a slap in the butt either, dad could grab anything close to him and hit me with full force.

as much as i don't get along with my mom, as much as i dislike living in the same house as her (note: this is between human and human, different way of thinking, don't group me with TC please). i still care for her well being at least. wouldn't want to see her cry or anything of the sort. same goes with my father.

time to grow up, slush, as much as i don't give a shit about you.

not a standard set up by society, just my two cents. everything in this world is somewhat inaccurate, you can use that rule to bend anything not to hit you directly. however, hit or not hit, that's for others to judge, not the target, nor the shooter.

no one can stop you from being an asshole if you desire it. I'm not even trying to convince you to go to comfort her.
i just pity the ~~people~~ existent that directly and indirectly related to you through any connection. including me having to see your presence in this place.

You are partially correct in thinking that people do naturally feel grateful to their parents, perhaps beyond common sense, but you are incorrect in saying that nobody thinks for themselves, or just simply following tradition.
There are spurious traditions (eg celebrating Christmas - you don't have to do it), but there are ones which are based on good values and judgement.  And even if people follow it because they can't think for themselves does not mean that it's a "bad" tradition.

If you are going to try to think everything through logically with reasoning then you really do have to make sure you have all your facts straight, or your reasoning simply falls apart.

I can understand that not all parents are the best - there are ones which abuse their children and whatnot.  Nonetheless, most have spent the effort to bring one up in the world.

No, you didn't choose to do this, neither would you have ever had the choice anyway if you never existed.  No, you didn't choose your parents, but you never had any right to in the first place.  This is a pointless argument to pursue.

I'm not saying you have to love your parents.  If you truly don't feel that way, then it seems pointless to try to convince yourself to do so.  However you should take into consideration what others have done for you - not just the negative aspects which make you hate someone, but also the positive aspects which you seem to be ignoring.  Ultimately, it's unlikely that you'll ever break up your relationship with your mother, so it may be worthwhile thinking about how to achieve some common ground to suit the both of you.

Having said that, you perhaps don't seem to be too harsh.  It sounds like you've tried to help her (not by much) and if I'm getting your mood, she doesn't seem to be doing much to try to help herself.  I personally would put more effort into trying to help her get what she wants/needs, even if you think it's pointless/childish.
