RE: Should Sony Compensate Us for their Downtime?
There isn't much they could do with your address, well I guess they could sell it and you'll get more sPa/\/\ mail.
I use the reloadable cards, because I don't have to use my real address and my social security number number is not connected with it in any way. Not that they could get my social security number number from a real credit card.

RE: Should Sony Compensate Us for their Downtime?
Yeah, that's true.
I'm just worried because the card that I last used was my grandfather's. He let me use it to download a few games, and I never got around to deleting the card information. I'm more worried about him than me.

RE: Should Sony Compensate Us for their Downtime?
Oh, I would be too. If I had that info and was the kind of person that does that kinda thing I would that 25 cents from every account. No one would miss 25 cents and 18.75 million bucks sounds real good :)

Credit cards can be cancelled, and/or you can reject charges to the card. Relatively speaking, they aren't really unsafe.
But I also thought that credit card organisations often audit institutions that utilise credit, especially those that transact a lot of money, and require fairly stringent security measures...

RE: Should Sony Compensate Us for their Downtime?
Just checked my grandfather's account. I had only purchased 7 out of the 16 items that were listed from PSN.
Someone has spent nearly $100 from his account...

WOW, that sucks big time... I'm sure you will get the money back. Let your grandfather know and tell him to close out the card. Sony or the fraud division of his credit card will get the money back.

I'll definitely tell him.
Apparently these transactions happened on the 18th of April.

RE: Should Sony Compensate Us for their Downtime?
If this happens more and more Sony will have a lot of problems. Not saying it's their fault, but people will not see it that way. So they bought PSN games? That is a little odd, seeing that the hackers will not get anything out of it. But I guess they are just trying to give Sony a headache.
