RE: PSP vs NDS
I think this is a matter of preference.
For me, the psp is the most appealing (go specifically) because i use it for what it says it is; a portable gaming system. Has anyone ever played around with a DS? you have to use stylus and controls; lets think of this as if you were using it on the bus, it's so damn shabby and hard to put in and out of your pocket, so, the only times i would see myself using it would be sitting down at home. Since I'm a retrogamer i prefer many of the emulators found on the psp and the fact that i can also play psp related games, which, has a decent amount of ports.
This stuff for me, is fun and very useful; also being able to check the time, browse the internet and slap my psp closed when i have to get moving really just sweetens the deal. It's very portable and i get a lot of use out of it, I have an R4 card and DS; but they're rarely used. Want to know why? Because it's unwieldy and not portable for me.
and the obvious one: Graphics of psp > nds
MY SIG IS FUCKING DEAD

RE: PSP vs NDS
Both are pretty boring to me these days, but back then the PSP was more exciting for me.

PSP, because it's not simply a gaming device, and does a lot of other stuff as well, making it much more useful. These days, I actually spend far more time using the PSP as a portable video player and MP3 player than as a gaming console.
Oh, and the PSP can emulate stuff too.
Totally agreed. Actually I don't even have any games on my PSP now only music and video and the music and video player of the PSP is really awesome. It has tools that I haven't seen on other devices likes most cellphones and so on like the A-B repeat the sequential playback the speed decrease and increase which doesn't make the voice of the singer stupid which I haven't even seen PC media players do that and the Xmb and music and video player is really smooth in compare to the DS (which I don't think could even play videos) and cellphone, also about the gaming I should say that I have played with the DS and the games are actually only fun for about an hour when you solve puzzles and stuff with the pen and the touch but after that they become totally boring cause most of them usually don't have much of a good storyline or so and well the graphics is surely not even comparable with the PSP. I think PSP still rules over everything even every cellphone.
I still remember the world from the eyes of a child, Slowly those feelings where clouded by what I know now, Where has my heart gone? An uneven trade for the real world...

The DS can aswell but it's not quite as good as the PSP due to the restricted resolution. The screens on the DS are smaller than 320 x 240.

RE: PSP vs NDS
Games may be longer, but the time they may entertain you for isn't quite as good. Well the general PSP library anyway.

RE: PSP vs NDS
I'd suspect the DS's emulation capabilities would be worse than the PSP due to weaker processing power.
Higher capacity UMDs can probably allow more video content (not generated animations) but how that pertains to game length probably has little relevance.
Considering that like ~1MB SNES/GB ROMs (probably smaller with NES etc) can keep you playing for many hours clearly shows that games don't need to take up a lot of space to last a while.
