Wifi always on connectivity...

I think this would be great, to always be connected auto pull internet data. stream rss feeds behind the XMB and auto update time... I think it would be wonderful

well I figure most new devices smartphones etc integrate seemlessly with the internet... this is something the psp lacks. Almost as if wifi came as an afterthought

Not to say it's a bad idea but:

Battery life. it's pretty bad as it is and having the Wifi on constantly would only drain it more.
It's a games console not a phone. People use the psp to play games not to communicate. That's what a phone's for.
Flash space. The flash is full as it is. I don;t think many more features would fit. Remember location free player had to be removed at one point to fit CFW on.

good idea. One this id change though due to battery life. Make it so it has a switch like it does now so when you flick it on it connects automatically and does all that.

yeah I guess its more of a personal thing because I rarely use my psp games and use it more for internet/anime

I just think the psp had such great potential... it could have been so much more

RSS updates are typically done through polling though, so theoretically, ignoring software design, the Wifi could just activate for a short period of time every 30 minutes or so, to grab new RSS content, then deactivate, so there wouldn't be that much additional battery drain (assuming it doesn't grab content when the device is off/sleep).
