Anyone use F.lux?
I did hint about it in another thread, but this is a rather simple, yet curious and surprisingly nice tool.
http://www.stereopsis.com/flux/

All it does is change the colouring of the screen depending on what time of the day it is.  Generally, making the screen a bit more warmer or more orange at night, and more bluish during the day.
I think the idea is that generally, at night, most people have warm coloured lights, so making the screen of a similar colour makes it easier on the eyes.

It might not sound like much, but try using it for a while, and then try disabling it at night - the difference can be rather astounding.

RE: Anyone use F.lux?
I tried it a few weeks back. Didn't like it. Especially because I do a lot of looking at art and stuff I like to see the true color and not a tinted one. I know you can temporarily disable it so you can do color sensitive stuff but it just isn't for me.

RE: Anyone use F.lux?
I'm trying it now from reading this thread, it's likely something I won't use permanently though.

RE: Anyone use F.lux?
Pretty interesting since my monitor tends to be hard on my eyes at night...

Thanks

I dunno... it helps a bit but not enough to warrant tainted colors.

It does sound interesting. I'll check it out later, Diego does have a good point though...

RE: Anyone use F.lux?
Yeah, if you do a lot of colour accurate work, this thing isn't for you.
But if you do late night reading / web browsing etc, IMO it's quite nice.

You can adjust the amount it changes by, By the way, Senseito7.

RE: Anyone use F.lux?
Apparently it doesn't go blueish in the day, no different for me at day. I think it's useful too except I don't like to use it for late night anime.
