do the filesize thing.
convert your bmps to jpgs (make sure they're not above 32767bytes) pad them to 32767bytes then merge them.
I've heard about coldbirds hack. I'm kinda confused about the merge thing. I tried but didn't get what to expect. Actually, I have a copy of the hacked vshmain.prx renamed vsh.prx and a 01-12.bmp sample with 12 hi-res but the problem is that I got white boxes. Another thing, I have a collection i want to used on my PSP but don't know how to merge. Does copy b/ work using jpgs image to merge them to 01-12.bmp?

yes, copy /b will work too.
the important thing is the padding part, you have to pad each image to exactly 32767byte (december can be ignored though) then merge them.

Just wondering if the filesize should be exactly 32767 bytes for all jpgs or its the maximum size for each. Some of my backgrounds are less in size.

Bstronga, I am using now the converted topmenu but still there are white boxes in the game and network side. hmmm:beurk:
Edit: Nope, the problem is not the converted topmenu. It's my system_plugin_fg.rco a.k.a windows taskbar. Replacing it with my other custom system_plugin_fg.rco, I got the 12 High res 01-12.bmp and clean topmenu. But then again, I'd like to learn how to merge them. I find it difficult to make them 32767 bytes. Thanks Bstronga.

here is simple batch file to convert 12 bg into 01-12.bmp
ensure each file is less than 32767, rename to 01.jpg, 02.jpg & etc.. run the .bat then...

Hmmm, that's weird. I mean, does this bacth file needs to open my adobe photoshop to do the convertion? When I run .bat ms-dos windows opened and states line by line that my jpgs are already modified then after line stating "modified:12.jpg" it automatically opened my photoshop. I waited for awhile if something will happened seeing that my 01.jpg is opened in photoshop but later decided to close the file and the application. Then in the ms-dos batch windows, it said something like "error: unable to read input file" then photoshop opened again, now with 02.jpg opened. Not knowing what to do and expect I decided to end the batch file as well as the photoshop. Is that how it is supposed to be? Just clarifying. aand how long will the conversion take place? Thanks. Couldn't get it to work. Just kept opening photo shop, and the high res prog, kept showing errors...
Strange...
