then i would recomend a mid range laptop from the likes of Acer, or perhaps WidowPC? http://www.widowpc.com/2005/06/gaming_laptops.php
or a inspiron 1505 from dell:
core 2 duo - 1.73GHZ
2GB DDR2
x1400 256MB [mid range graphics card, i used to run one, did pretty good for a budget card, ran stuff like HL2, far cry, WOW, with med-low settings]
15" screen
under 1400$

i played Rainbow 6 on low detail @ 800x600... didnt look that great but it was playable.
im not saying its a great card, but for under 1400....

you can get a mb pro with a 8600m gt 128mb for under 1400 if I recall correctly...
