lol...i make it so easy..
pandora  + mms = cfw = homebrews..
download it and copy the extracted dir to PSP/GAME

I'm not so noob, i got my psp with 5.00 m33-6.
The point it was that appeared bad at xmb, i probed in another ms and worked fine.

Hope this isn't too late to reply.
Does this only add the icons and not the subfolder functionality from 6.20?
Also is there anyway to reverse the effects if I don't like the results?

I just applied this and all it did was add a Playstation Spot icon under network and turn my text dark red.
I'm on 5.00M33-6 & a Phat PSP.
