Quote:"For the Love of God" is an instrumental guitar piece by Steve Vai. It is the seventh song on Vai's 1990 album Passion and Warfare. Vai recorded it on the fourth day of a 10 day fast because "I do try to push myself into relatively altered states of consciousness. Because in those states you can come up with things that are unique even for yourself".
Vai has performed an arrangement of this piece with The Metropole Orchestra in the Netherlands, a nine minute version
.. this is that version. And even if you've heard/seen it before.. you know it's worth watching again. Enjoy.
Artist: Steve Vai
Song: For the Love of God
Live with the Holland Metropole Orchestra, 2005. From the DVD "Visual Sound Theories".
Senseito7 Wrote:^ yea I did quote it....... and yes, both versions have their own feeling.
Passion and Warfare is simply outstanding.
For The Love of God has to be my favorite song from him. Building the Church and Whispering a Prayer are pretty close, too. I'll have to check out the Passion and Warfare album.
