I really am liking the game. Can't really understand why it got sub-par ratings. Ok there are a couple of flaws but nothing major that influences the game in any which way.

no towns = letdown for others

i like the save point based item shops, no need to go back to a town just to resupply.

also, the linearity, point A to point B on first 20 hours of game, but i think squeenix priority for this game is the battle system, one of the best out there for any rpg. first FF game that requires you think of a strategy for every battle, not just atk atk atk lol.
