Haven't seen 19 yet. (Waiting for Mazuis 720 release) but now that you've told me... I guess its safe to assume they only had story for the first half of the anime.

It's a damn shame... I was really enjoying it. Well nevertheless I look forward to watching Index.

I can predict they'll quickly pick up a story line within the last six episodes and I was somewhat hoping for character development between Mikoto, Misaka(s) and Accelerator in the anime that's about Mikoto.

Maybe some time in the last 6 episodes will have it?

They can do it, I've seen animes do things like that in even less time. Well, not a whole story line though, though I remember that last part of Index, the one with the girl with massive boobs and glasses and the dark skinned blond haired girl wearing priest robes, seemed pretty squashed in too.

K-on was special. That's why it got a second season.

I wonder if the filler events actually happened in what it was adapted from (manga or light novel, I think it was light novel as it said in Index-tan's err, ad for it)

The events of Index are already happening in Railgun and this is evident by the fact Touma and Index have already met each other.
