Done, see if that'll fix the boot problems, thanks.
It still occurs, but weirdly, it seems that holding L+R during boot increases the likelihood of it fully booting.
Now am getting lots of random freezes PSP games now >_>

Assassinator Wrote:ZiNgA BuRgA Wrote:CPU speed change preventing shutdown: it seems that 3 consecutive CPU speed changes via the vshmenu (that is, Select (open menu), Left/Right (to change speed), Select (close menu), Select (open menu) etc) will stop the PSP from being able to sleep, reset or shutdown. The power switch simply becomes unresponsive to sleep/shutdown requests (hold still works) and the reset/shutdown commands in the vshmenu don't work (after selecting them, the menu goes away but the PSP doesn't do as its told). Same effect with trying to sleep/reset/shutdown from the Custom Firmware Extender menu.
This is definitely repeatable for me.
WTF? I tried it, and that happens to me as well.
same here...... must be a bug.

RE: Weird PSP issues/glitches...
I found out on my psp 2000 that when i use the m33 menu with the plugin hold.prx you most set your cpu clock on default or 222, 333,300
if you set it on like 266(to save battery) and put your psp on hold and back on it doesn't change cpu back to normal (BUG in hold)

I'm pretty sure I never had it a long time before...
Anger Wrote:get a utility to check your nand for bad blocks as this sounds like the inevitable first signs of flash damage. i hope im wrong but it does sound like that. i was trying to think if it could be the mem stick causing these problems so if it still locks up or freezes without a stick in then i would suspect hardware.
I just ran a check with nandTool - found 0 bad blocks. Did a full dump and didn't detect anything.
Anyway, decided to restore with a nand dump I made in March last year - I still have the CPU changing bug but I'll see if the other issues are there...
Thanks again everyone!

What version of Despertar are you using ? DCv8 i hope?
maybe your psp is telling you it wants to be replaced by a new slimmer model :-/

RE: Weird PSP issues/glitches...
It seems that Hold+ was causing corrupt transfers, oddly... >_>
Just spent like half an hour trying to get the PSP to boot - seems that old methods to get it to work aren't so effective any more. Found a new one but PSP seems to be freezing on me very often now - even doing it in the DCv8 menu.
Really annoying. And I don't think they sell new PSP-2000's any more...

RE: Weird PSP issues/glitches...
i think it is gen...
ive had both my psps for over 5 years and since i switched to gen, its ben buggin out like yours.
both of mine like to freeze if i put it into sleep and take it off, in the xmb. in game theres no problem. also if i put it on hold using internet conection, it freezes but don't crash...
changing cpu has same prob for me too..
also my psps sometimes won't turn on either... but it won't show a green light at all or nothing.

RE: Weird PSP issues/glitches...
Hmmmmm... I have a few thoughts.
- what firmware are you on now ZiNgA ?
- have you installed any extra modifications to flash? (150k, fatMSmod, Ir Shell Patches, customized rco files, ect?) maybe there is a conflict with something?
- Have you tried using Chilly Willy's Key Cleaner to check your ID Storage? If any of your keys get messed up, all kinds of crazy stuff will start happening...
- I actually noticed the CPU speed change bug on my PSP 2000 as well.. :/
- When I was on GEN, I was getting all kinds of random crashes in vsh, game, pops ect.
- That is an old PSP you got there ZiNgA: maybe the hardware is aging a bit?
- I have also noticed certain homebrews no longer work after going back from GEN to M33. For instance: PSP Cheat Up will no longer launch for me...
If I think of anything else relevant, I'll post it here.
