RE: Computer Programming (Transfer Y/N)
almost all people who get used to programming at early age gets bored when college comes.
i was even lazy to attend those class myself and taking them for granted.

if it's needed in your course, well you need to endure it.

nothing.

RE: Computer Programming (Transfer Y/N)
'Drop the class', as it already happened to me. After that I didn't program anything anymore -.-

The meaning of life is existence. Wee are just here to exist. Here to save the balance. Not the balance of good and evil or black and white as these exist because wee do. To exist you have to leave some sort of sign. There is something that needs life to exist, wee're here and try to get to know more about our roots. Thus wee began with science to explain the things wee didn't create, but by doing so wee changed the meaning of these and any further attempts to gain knowledge were based on these incorrect assumptions.

Stick with it.

Its not just about knowing, its about being able to put up with both what you do and don't like

Get to know the others in your class, help them out, and the class will progress quicker, which is a bonus for you. Stick at it, you never knoe when its gonna change into something better

That plus it means you get to stick it on your CV/resume. When you end up in an interview for a job or university application you can say you know that stuff but unless you actually have a piece of paper to prove it they won't listen. I thought about dropping IT A Level but I'm glad now that I didn't. The last few weeks of it were absolute hell, not because the work was difficult but becase there was so much of it. But I walked out of it with an A which has now gotten me 2 offers from 2 different universities without even going to an interview...

RE: Computer Programming (Transfer Y/N)
I personally never took computer classes during year 11/12.  Reason being that there are much more interesting classes to take where you actually learn stuff.
But that depends a lot on you - I somewhat actually enjoy learning a number of things to a degree.
People you meet in your (small) class may be useful contacts later on.

In my opinion, if you know the language, then don't take the class. It's a waste of time. The only good part is that you get that credit.

Do it, if only for the bit of paper that says you know your spoon.

People won't believe a random guy who claims to know programming if he just says so. If he has a bit of paper that says he knows what he's about (from a respectable source, of course) belief comes a lot easier.

"Books! I've read several on the subject!"

^^ I did a national diploma for 2 years in networking to basically get a piece of paper tellnig everyone what i already knew. Paper is far more important than knowledge when it coems down to it, sad as it seems

RE: Computer Programming (Transfer Y/N)
unfortunately in our time, knowledge alone is not enough, you need to have the "diploma" for employers to accept you.

nothing.
