ben3gfc Wrote:4. i looked inside the .iso before burning (but i didn't change anything, just viewed the files with WinRAR) and in the "Programs" folder, i found Mozilla etc but they were in .exe files, i though .exe was just for Windows?
.exes are only for windows, the liveCD comes with a few open source programs you can install on windows if you insert the liveCD while in windows. I guess its to promote open source or something, but really I don't know why they have it on there. It was really helpful for me though, when I needed to read a .pdf, and had no internet connection or means of reading a .pdf file, I popped in the Kubuntu liveCD and installed Scribus.

RE: Yeah, so Unbuntu impresses me
Sorry to revive this old thread, but i have one random question:
on the Ubuntu LiveCD, can you install programs? (even if its just temporary. ie uTorrent/BitTorrent etc just to get one file if I'm on the LiveCD and can't be bothered switching back to windows just to get a small torrent file)

RE: Yeah, so Unbuntu impresses me
I can't figure out how to make it work with my wireless network. It shows the wireless network, I try to connect, and then it just stops. How can I fix this? If I could get that to work I would do the full install in a heartbeat.
