This is a small tutoriol about how to get a logo into the optionmenu_base.bmp from the system_plugin rco.

Here is a picture, PSP-Hacks is in the option menu and when you change the theme color the logo also colors into the same color..(PSP-Hacks is not in the back ground picture!!)





First: you are limited to this resolution.. any higher and the xmb icon's from network will be srewed!?

1-Start photoshop and load my base..

2-Go into the alpha channel and use the text tool to write something, stay inside the grey area.

3-And stay below the white blur in the top of the base.., make sure the text is clear, its a small resolution and the picture will be stretched.

4-Now that you typed something the typed borders are selected and you use the brush tool and select white as color BUT make it 1 step less white.., so you have a color slightly grey.(so almost almost white as color)


5-Now make the brush size bigger as the whole selection and brush twice.


6-select the rgb channel and deselect the alpha channel

7-save as 32 bits bmp and replace the tex_optionmenu_base in the system_plugin.rco with rco editor from zinga burga

I tried also with picture's in the rgb channel(with an alpha silohuet, or without and the picture will be transparant) but they will be colored by theme color you use..
Picture's can be used with alpha channel etc but the resolution makes it difficult if you know how to work with alpha channel you can find out yourself..

Because it is has todo with a PSP HACK.

Nice!  Never looked into this type of customization, but I guess it has something to do with this thread, eh?

I had problems with the resolution, my icon's got screwed up so instead of 144x272 i used a bmp 144x176
When you make the bmp slect the whole picture and make a stroke of 1 pixel black arround the bmp in the alpha channel.. else you get messed-up picture..

You can also extract the bmp with rco edit from the option_menu_plugin.rco
And then rizese to 144x176 if your icon's are srewed else just use 144x272..

You replaced the wrong bmp in the rco..

By the way: you can use a 144x176(If you use glow and shadow icon's) or 144x272 and check out bstronga's prx files!!

I made this tut at the same time bstronga made his prx files wich enabled 144x176 bmp's .. and 144x272 bmp's..

Anyway ..

no i doubt it... i have a new gameboot 4 it now but the weird thing is that i put "J'adore le paissons PSP" in my opening_plugin wer it says tex_psp_logo and it came out in my gameboot!!
is dat suposed 2 happen i wonder??? :P
