RE: gen d3 ms speedup.
Look again. I has to be there.

What bothered me is that the changelog says that it's an untested feature. Ok... so how did they knew if it worked or not ? Reminds me of 5.50 GEN-C when it caused "semi-bricks" because it wasn't tested...

and as for the testinf of the ms speedup, they probably 'borrowed' Dax's but didnt test it on their firmware.

RE: gen d3 ms speedup.
Yeah, well, some people went back to D2 in fear of corrupted save games. And for good reason. Something similar happened to me about two years ago when I switched from 3.71 M33-4 to 3.90 M33-3. But hey, at least it didn't corrupt them... they just weren't compatible anymore. And I had to switch back until I either finished the games or got bored with them.

Right now there's just Avatar and a few selected others that won't run on D2 (unless you decrypt them and then they even run on 5.00 M33 or maybe even lower).

PS: I thought the patch was called "U3R" or something like that. Or was it an entire firmware based on GEN D2 with a little "something" ?

RE: gen d3 ms speedup.
yeah, i think im about to go back to m33 though. gen is full of buggs.

since i switched to gen:

had to format ms like 5 or 6 times to get certain things to work.
cxmb don't work
can't make pandora battery
pandora xgen don't work
and so far, still no ms speedup.

pretty sure it has nothing to do with the firmware..

have you tried to modify your recovery.prx?
