The PSP2
Quote:Time to roll out the old render, as news emerges about what could be considered the true PSP2. According to Eurogamer Spain, they’ve acquired the spec-shit for Sony’s in-development successor to the current PSP, a long leap ahead of what’s on offer with the PSPGo.
Said to be more powerful than the original Xbox console, the PSP2 is tipped as using the quad-core Imagination Technology’s PowerVR SGX543MP. The new chip – apparently codenamed “Hydra” – would be capable of churning 133 million polygons per second, as well as supporting OpenGL 2.0 and DX10.
Interestingly enough, the PSP2 is also said to use Deferred Rendering as last spotted on the Sega Dreamcast. That allows for complex geometry to be constructed by bypassing rendering anything that will be masked in the final scene. Sony, unsurprisingly, have said that they cannot comment on unannounced products, but given the PSPGo is set to launch shortly they’re unlikely to say anything that could sideline their new cash-cow.

If the Go! was as sexy as the render in the 1st post - I would have bought one on launch day!
I would give my right eye for a second analog stick.
