No, that's either Kyoani or the TV stations' fault (depending on who came up with the idea).  The TV stations broadcast 4:3 first, then 16:9 3 weeks later.  Both are equally shitty video quality wise anyway.

Not a bad idea by the way.  Shitty broadcasts = more people buy DVDs.

I was getting them as soon as they came out for Season one. (Had no internet for After story)

Ironically, though, I waited for SS-Eclipse and didn't get/know of TheWaffleHouse subs.

And that's exactly their plans.  Fans obviously can't wait, so they'll watch it TWICE.  I mean they're effectively doubling their view count for free, sounds like a good idea to me, besides for pissing off the fans.  But then again, fans = stupid (proof: go look at Endless Eight DVD sales... it sold shitloads) and are the only group out there who'll take all the shit (read: abuse) and still follow 1 2 3... so why not just feed them the shit?

It seems there are pretty rediculous fans like you mentioning... I couldn't bring myself to get the Endless Eight spoon.

But the video quality for the 16:9 airing wasn't any better than the 4:3.  It doesn't look that bad to you because the encoder obviously fixed it for you.  That's around the time when I was still haning in the encoders channel on Rizon, and Mentar was bitching about rainbowed dotcrawls...
