Actually, exactly the same here.
Though in the past I've had my old PSU blow up on me because it was a s hitty no-brand. Because I thought I'd just be cheap and get away with using my old PSU instead of spending money to buy a new one, and it just couldn't take new the load, even though that PSU was supposedly 550W, whcih is way more than I needed. Thankfully, it didn't take anything with it when it blew up.

Well, funny thing is that everyone said the PSU is the one place you don't want to skimp on the cash, so I looked for one of the most trusted makers of PSUs (and RAM), and made sure to get more than what I'd need, and of course that is what ends up costing me the most trouble XD
I really should have realized about a UPS sooner. Well, it's just another one of life's lessons, though I don't know if the meaning of life is "Make sure you get a UPS"... but it could be...
