^ I like this.

Bringing Haruhiisms into the equations (which Im sure are not original idearisms)...

Lets look at time like a piece of string. You can only move forward on this piece of string (since this is the nature of our existance) so in order to go to a previous moment in time... time would have to be "bent".

The string must be guided to end at a certain point in time in order to get there, but the problem here is that you have a timeloop.,,

i.e. you would always end up in the same situation from the point you travelled back in time. This theory in itself has many problems (what is the fate of your past self? can you travel back without inevitably rewinding biologically?) but at least it seems the most pheasible..

[in regards to the "Endless Eight" timeloop - every time Kyon went to sleep and woke up on the final day everything was reset - granted details were omitted but it suggests that you probably would reverse in biological state and forget everything that happened previously..]

RE: Time Travel
but in regards to the saving girlfriend from car crash situation, your girlfriend would have already been saved by yourself had you been successful in saving her when you travelled back through time, however then you yourself would have to travel back and save her, creating the loop again.

and how would travelling at a very fast speed make time go backwards?

the theory of relativity denotes it, as discovered by Albert Einstein. It has been proven too, with atomic clocks. Two were set, one at an airport, and one in a concorde (when they flew). After a month they met the clocks up and the one on the plane was a few seconds behind the one in the airport. The same has happened when people were sent to space, and came back down again, their clocks were always behind a few seconds.

time and space are linked, not independent of each other, hence the so called time-space continuum.

interesting. So it suggests that the speed at which they travelled actually slowed down time?

eg if i would go back to my 5th birthday would i turn 5 again,. ;p
That would be rather useless.  No, you yourself experience some different time relative to the rest of the universe.  That is, your own notion of time is always going forward, but this going forward isn't in accordance with everything else.

i think you create temporary duplicates of yourself, meaning that you cannot be actually the same person at the same time.
They are different versions of you.  For example, you ask a young kid probably acts differently to you as now.  Put both in the same time period and what do you have?

trademark91 Wrote:and i also think that if you die in the past, you stop existing in the present.
But the past death is, relatively to your own timeline, in the future, but relative to the rest of the universe, the past.

Alternatively, you just need to change the relative speed at which you travel in time.

I recall reading a theory about having infinite quantum universes, being a possible solution to the "kill grandmother" issue, but the case of knowing a past death is a little different.

Different copy, yes, but it's all essentially you!

Use information from other places, ie death records, newspaper etc.

Vegetano1 Wrote:it is,. but maybe that is whot will  happen if you try,..
If you travelled into the past and you also turned into your past state - including memories, brain state, etc, then there is no time disturbance, thus no-one really travelled in time...
