[Help] Block Computers From Connecting to Router
So my brother pretty much leeches the Internet all day, causing my speed to be extremely slow and my ping to be through the roof. I have a 2Wire 2701HG-B (AT&T model). I'd like to block his MAC address but I can't find the setting forit...There might be a simpler way I just can't find it. Halp?

RE: [Help] Block Computers From Connecting to Router
How technically literate is your brother? When I was setting up my network at home i wanted his computer to have access to resources on the network but not the internet. I just turned off DHCP on his copmuter, gave him a static IP and left the Default Gateway and DNS server fields blank. His computer can see stuff on the network but not on the internet.
Helpful?

Kinda....I want to keep him completely off the connection completely though...I could uninstall his network drivers but Windows will be like "Nuh uh bitch!"....

RE: [Help] Block Computers From Connecting to Router
Here's an idea. Uninstall drivers then disable the NIC in the BIOS. Or just disable it in Device Manager...
Or just 'borrow' his patch lead...

1. you can set the wireless mode of card to 802.11a and limit the speed to 1mb/s in the windows driver
2. if its less than 1mb/s then #1 wouldn't make a difference
