Convinced your parents? :P

Nah, one of the downstairs guys renting our house said he'll chip in $5 a week (20 a month) for internet, but only if it's usable internet (our current stuff doesn't qualify, since wee get capped in less than 10days and then it's 6 people sharing dialup). Additionally, he agreed to compensate us about 1/2 the break contract penalty.

So if everything goes well, wee'll be moving up to ADSL2+ with 80GB cap.

Uncapped costs a fortune here.

As for being able to use it up... wee'll have 6 internet users, including the downstairs people... so it's possible.  And since they're netting us $480 or something rent income per week added up, wee're going to let them keep using the internet.

I don't particularly trust Ayako either. I'll wait for Eclipse... Wait, Eclipse is actually doing this right?

Gay, Eclipse is not doing it, at least I heard.

Hmmm... which to get?  Will download both (Ayako & Mazui) and see which is better.

Hmmm... Nuke seems to have taken it up, and I trust them more than either Mazui and Ayako.  But Nuke being Nuke is likely going to be Menclave speed, lets hope otherwise.

Hmmmm.... do you know how to time? typeset?

How good is your Japanese? Can you translate opening songs?

RE: Quick Fall anime review
no experience, but i can learn.

and nop, japanese is no where near understanding yet. I'm learning it by myself, at this stage, i can read hiragana, some katakana understanding basic stuffs, like this, that, normal object etc.
opening song is much harder than normal talking, thanks to the music.
remember how Eclipse used to translate Code geass's World end, "Everything is bright" as "everything is Heart"?

just watched Got to go's Nyankoi 2, i won't be getting it from em anymore, for one obvious flaw.

Spoiler:
kana called the cat Kuma Neko, Kuma is normal bear, and i know bearcat sounded wrong, but they could've found something better than Panda to call it -.-

Yeah, and these jobs aren't particularly hard either. Translation and karaoke are the harder ones.

Probably because of this...

RE: Quick Fall anime review
i don't particular think translation is hard, once you know the language.
no comment on karaoke effects and timing.

Regarding Nyan koi, Frostii is doing it, just use them, they're very good.

Heartless141 Wrote:i don't particular think translation is hard, once you know the language.

Yeah, but the language is WAY harder to learn than any of the other skills, by order of magnitudes, especially if you want to do a good translation.

Timing takes 1hrs to learn and 3hrs to master (seriously, it's super easy).  Typesetting (.donkey) takes like 1 day to learn, and a bit of practice to become proficient.  Encoding takes a few hours to be able to do the basics (you're going to suck), and some time (a decent while) to accumulate the knowledge and grasp the advanced stuff.  Karaoke requires to be a very good typesetter as a prerequisite, and you would also need to know how to code, if you're interested in making any of the advanced stuff.

So imo... In terms of effort it takes to learn and be good at the job...

Translation >>>>> Karaoke Creation (master) > Encoding (master) >>> Karaoke Creation (basics) > Typesetting > Encoding (basics) > Timing.

feinicks Wrote:Ah... so guys starting that project again?

No.

I will only "yes" after I'm certain it can work out. Actually, not just "work out", wee have be able to achieve a "decent" level at least, better not doing anything than sucking.

Heh, I always thought from the very start that SenSky was going to fail. Now Sensei's going to rage at me...
