windows auto update
im on windows xp sp2, and it keeps trying to restart my computer, to update. but i don't want to. does anyone else find this obnoxious and irritating?

Yes. But Microsoft learned and changed that in Windows 7. It no longer keeps bugging you.

One solution is to just drag that box into a corner instead of closing it, then it won't pop up and annoy you again, sine it's already there, just not visible.

Isn't there an option to only update when you shut down?  I recall seeing the option in the Start » Shutdown dialog list at Uni.

Personally hate Auto updaters with a passion, so IDK on my own machine.

Automatic Updates are always best to "Let me choose what to install" so you can update when you want to.

And yeah - Win7 is sweet stuff.

Huh? Mine doesn't have a timer... it just bugs you like every 10 minutes.
