There is a new PSP software update It's 6.10 and its being released for the launch of PSP Go!

    * SensMe channels is a new music application for PSP that uses Sony’s proprietary 12 Tone Analysis technology to evaluate music tracks that have been imported from Media Go application on your PC to your PSP. The application automatically categorizes the tracks into 12 channels such as “Relax” or “Newly Added”. Check out the walk-thru demo to see how it works.
    * In addition, PlayStation Store for the PSP and PSPgo via Media Go (v1.2) will be updated with a new look on Thursday, October 1. To access PlayStation Store, you need to download Media Go (or update Media Go if you already have it). Media Go is a free PC software application that allows you to easily organize and transfer music, photos and videos between your PC and PSP. It also allows you to access PlayStation Store and to purchase, backup and restore PSP games. Of course, you can always access PlayStation Store directly on the PSP and PSPgo by connecting to a wireless hot spot and simply logging in with your PlayStation Notwork ID. But for those of you who prefer to use a PC, you will see that downloading games, movies and TV shows for your PSP is easier than ever with the new PlayStation Store on Media Go.     * Tethering. Another new feature is the ability to use a bluetooth mobile device, such as a mobile phone, as a modem to connect your PSP system to the internet. At this rate, 5.50-GEN's gonna be the last REAL CFW, and every other CFW after it's gonna be a fudgin' fake. But maybe that's just my pessimistic view.

Maybe DAX has lost his interest in the scene.  I guess no one could blame him if he did.  I mean hell - he has been working on very complicated projects for a largely ungrateful scene for nearly a half a decade now   :/

I will always appreciate what DAX has done, and would trust a cfw from him in the future, should he ever make one someday.

On the other side of the coin, life with PSP Gen has been quite lovely, and I have been living in perfect harmony with GEN cfw.

It's always sad to see a good dev become retired or inactive in the scene.
But at the end of the day, I'm just happy the scene is alive, regardless of who is supporting it at the time.  That is really the spirit of the homebrew scene.   "Everybody around - band together for the good of all."

So let's just keep on, keepin' on.       Madwin

Hacking the psp 3000 wasn't rally necessary because it only had a mic and a "better" screen; with no huge changes to the model.

Though it's different for the psp go; this is a major design overhaul, one that is desperately in need of a custom firmware asap; mmmm homebrew with portabilty

One fault with that: Sony only sells new PSP-3000's. Not everyone can get a Slim or Phat (since you can only get them used). This means people who buy PSPs buy 3000's, and the PSP scene slowly dies off.

The Go is a different scenario, since the 3000 is still being sold.

dam straight Shizzy, DAX is amazing but yea i wouldn't blame him if hes tired or lost interest hes done so much and its not like wee will never have custom firmware, im liking GEN and accept it might be the only choice left.
