Don't think just because you're using Linux, virus' can't touch you. You can get virus' for every single OS out there.

Actually, obscurity through closed source apps can be a form of security...

Firefox sources its list of attack sites from Google, and Google isn't claiming EP to be a known attack site.
You can't really get a virus from a website, at least in theory.

Having two incidents is indeed weird.  Typically these "attack sites" come via someone editing a page and inserting some obfuscated Javascript code on a page, but I can't find such a thing here.
