the brand spanking new v13?

well you'd think it'd be a better all-round distro with its newer componants..

yeah, im downloading it now... im going to get the 64 bit version, my processor can support it, so why not? and, hopefully, after a while ill learn it. after all, "if you learn redhat, youll know redhat. if you learn slackware, youll know linux"  that's what im shooting for... wish me luck.

Good Lucky! :D

Jeez! What kind of connection do you have? I thought mine was bad. Only around 45mins to download a 700MB iso for me. Unless you're getting a DVD iso...

its not bad. i like it. i don't think itll be my main os though... the continuous trips to the terminal become tedious, even if they do make it look like your doing a lot more than you actually are... i want a technical distro, but i don't want it to be quite as needlessly basic. im going to try out debian. your distrowatch quiz said it was the one to try, and it seems like a solid distribution. im going to leave the slackware with a 25gb partition and give the rest to debian.

RE: SLACKWARE
theres not that many packages for slack anyway... I ended up having to compilie an install ndiswrapper just to get my wlan0 functioning correctly, and i think compiling and installing every thing i want will be a pain. so im going to keep it on there, with all the work ive already got on it, and go back to it to fine-tune when i get enough time to really hot-rod my os.
