Introduction:
This is the very first game that I've played in my famicom console, as it is the free cartridge when it was bought. As the cartridge is lighter than the other cartridges i own (i have a gradius 2 and its more heavier than this) the cartridge has a nice picture in the package, lol
from wiki:
The player guides Mappy the police mouse through the mansion of the cats called Mewkies (Meowky in the U.S. version) to retrieve 'borrowed' goods. The player uses a left-right joystick to move Mappy and a single button to operate doors.
The mansion has six floors of long hallways in which the 'borrowed' items are stashed. The items are:
Radio (100pts)
Television (200pts)
Computer (300pts)
Painting (400pts)
Safe (500pts).
and now for my reviews,
Graphics - 6/10
the graphics is just above from other games due to good pixels of the main character Mappy and the villains, the cats, but with used up maps in different stages and black background, sometimes it fell tedious to the eyes whne prolonged playing
Sound - 7/10
the sound is nice that fells like you're playing with the tune of mexican songs, lol
Gameplay - 6/10
the gameplay seems similar to some old games, that you must complete the things you get around the map with some obstacles (maybe similar to pacman?) but you need strategy to fight away with some menacing cats lurking around the game, as some doors can shoot away some sonic waves (or some sound waves) to kill away the cats, but they will be revived in a couple of moments eventually. And yes you should get the 'borrowed' appliances in the different mansions before the cat thieves saw you and beaten to dust , lulz
Replay Value - 5/10
The story seems so linear, you 'borrow' the 'borrowed' items from the mewkies mansions, kill the cat, save the world, but then again, after 12 stages, you will repeating again the stages with speed-up cats there, and the game speed will be increasing as you increase your level or stage (just like other platformers) but then again the exciting parts continues as you level up stages, and increasing points, but then again, because Mappy don't have battery pack in the cartridge, you can't save your progress and one way to finished of the game is turned of the tv or continue it later after you do some household chores, i have not done to go to higher than level 50 in this game, ive just get tired in that stage, lol
Overall - 7/10
Maybe not a great game, but this game is addicting due to its game system but then again i have a life to live so i can't play it in over 99+ levels, lol
